How cool is this!? Look we how we used some old wire spools to display jewelry and watches here at Art Angels Market. Just one of the many creative things we got going on here. The metal frame is an old wine rack used to drop the spools into place.

This is a quick idea of making unique “bonnet knobs” for your shabby furniture project. Any material will do, but I chose burlap for this one because I had framed burlap to cover side repairs done to my dresser project and it kept in theme. All this can be done while waiting for paint to dry on your project.
* First, paint the face of the wooden knobs to be used to match furniture as burlap is a very loose fabric and the paint will show through
* Next, cut squares of the burlap to wrap around the knobs large enough to have material left over
* Then wrap the knobs with the burlap and tie with a natural jute. An extra set of hands will help a lot!
* Next, trim off the excess material and string ends. Leave some burlap material at least the size of your knob so as to achieve the “bonnet” effect
* Mount to project furniture.
That's it!
Very simple, but it's an idea that you might not have occurred to you. See how nicely it goes with the overall project.
